Introducing The Midlands Wedding Content Co.
I love working with down-to-earth, warm-hearted couples who want their love for each other, and for their friends and family, to be at the very heart of their wedding.
I capture the essence of your day to deliver stand-out, beautiful images that will evoke treasured memories for years to come.
My Values
The Person Behind the Camera
Hello there!
My name is Donna Rachel, and I like warm hugs (and singing along to Frozen). I'm also the person behind the camera. I've already mentioned above that I've been doing content creation for some time now, but my real interest is photography. On weekends I'm often to be found with wellies on, traipsing around the countryside, spending ages finding the perfect obscure angle from which to photograph a rock or a tree, while my fiance Josh urges me to get a bl**dy move on.
Although Josh is American and I'm a southern girl (Brighton way), we've made our home in the beautifully rural county of Shropshire, which, to my great joy, contains many rocks and trees which can be photographed from obscure angles.
My Story
Almost every wedding supplier seems to have started their business when they were planning their own wedding -- and I'm afraid I'm no exception!
I've been working as a content creator for many years now for brands, including children's book publishers, tea tasters, and even financial companies, but I never knew wedding content creation was 'a thing' until I started researching videography options for my own wedding.
I knew I didn't want to pay thousands for a video that would be watched a few times and then get lost in the depths of my laptop's filing system, or gather dust on a USB memory stick lying forgotten in a drawer. I wanted a more flexible option that would allow me to share highlights of the day with friends, in a format that would pop up in Facebook memories year after year, to be cherished anew.
At first I thought about making QR codes for my guests to upload their snaps and video, which I could edit myself. But the difficulty with that is that our guests aren't photographers. They're not on the lookout, camera in hand, for all those little details, those precious moments that make for special memories. And besides, we're inviting them to share our day with us, not be our makeshift videographers.
But it just so happened that, at the very same time I was thinking all this through, wedding content creation reached the shores of Britain. The solution was so elegant. Rather than trying to cobble together a video from the snapshots and snippets that my guests might happen to capture, why not bring someone in with that eye for detail that I craved?
I knew immediately that I could provide that exact service to other happy couples on their special days, and so The Midlands Wedding Content Co. was born.
The only problem is, I can't film my own wedding myself, so on that front I'm back to square one!
